BCRA & Supervielle completed the pilot test of the Financial education program for teenagers in Mendoza Province

January 5, 2018

During 2017, Supervielle joined the BCRA initiative “Aprendiendo a ahorrar” which has as strategic allies the Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Mendoza Schools. The main objective is the promotion of literacy and financial inclusion of young people, developing strategies to build their economic security in a culture of savings. It also seeks to evaluate the impact of financial education actions, contributing to the design of efficient public policies.

To date, two small-scale pilot tests have been carried out to correct deviations before taking measures at a national level, involving greater resources in these actions. The first test had two stages (November 2016 and April-May 2017) and counted with the collaboration of Banco de la Nación Argentina. The second was held in October and November 2017 and was supported by 6 financial entities, including Supervielle. Almost 600 students participated in this stage, wich ended last November.

Thanks to the support of the Non Governmental Organization Conciencia, we were able to visit 4 schools in the districts of Gral. Alvear, San Rafael and Malargüe where high school students were trained and made aware of the free savings account for authorized minors that they can access.
