The Digital Inclusion Program (AER) of Grupo Supervielle received the Enrique Shaw Award from ACDE «Towards a Company with a Human Face»

Buenos Aires, October 8, 2018 – Grupo Supervielle received the First Prize of the XII Edition of the Enrique Shaw Award given by the Christian Association of Business Leaders (ACDE) «Towards a Company with a Human Face» (Large Companies Category) for their Digital Inclusion Program AER. The ACDE – Enrique Shaw Award aims to recognize those companies that, through a sustained effort, implement projects, programs, policies and practices that contribute to reducing the social debt, within the scope of the communities in which they operate.

In this XII Edition of the Enrique Shaw Award, 44 companies participated, presenting 52 projects. The initiatives were analyzed in the first instance by ACDE partners who presented their recommendations to a jury made up of prominent personalities from the business, academic and civil society organizations.

Abuelos En Red (AER) is a digital inclusion program whose objective is to train senior citizens in the use and benefits of new technologies (internet, mail, social networks, ATMs, home banking, etc.) AER has become a benchmark program in digital literacy for older adults. It is taught in 40 training centers through partnerships with universities and training institutes (public and private) where participants have free access to training courses in digital education, use of communication and information technologies, financial education workshops and recreational courses of cognitive stimulation.

Among the main milestones of AER are: 11 years of integration and training for senior citizens, 62,649 training certifications in digital and financial inclusion in workshops of 16 hours, coverage in 7 provinces and City of Buenos Aires, alliance with 21 universities and 2 institutes of superior education, more than 45 university teachers, first self-learning educational simulator of Home Banking for senior citizens and more than $ 10MM invested in education for them.

At the award ceremony held in the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, Mr. Mauricio Bertonati, Coordinator of the AER Program said: «We thank ACDE for this recognition that fills us with pride and motivates us to continue promoting active aging and healthy, social participation and the prevention of dependence to have a full and productive aging. In the coming years, the population of older adults will be increasingly limited in their desire to meet their needs for participation in the information society if we do not implement educational actions that incorporate them into teaching and learning processes. At Grupo Supervielle we develop actions that promote conditions for autonomy, self-realization, active aging and social participation,» he added.
